The conclusions were so-so: a chance to lose at least these percent of excess weight – 1 out of 12 for men and 1 out of 10 for women with simple obesity. In the group of subjects with a very high degree of obesity (BMI greater than 40), the probability was slightly higher: 1 to 8 for men and 1 to 7 for women.
With a return to normal weight, it’s even worse. Each year, one man out of 210 and one woman out of 124 can lose weight to a healthy state.
And the worst thing: after five years, the majority of those who lost weight – 78% – again got to obesity.
And this despite the fact that in the world there are many programs and tips for losing weight. In fact, you can lose weight only on one condition: spend more energy than you consume.
People are trying to somehow deceive themselves and circumvent this law, invent quick diets or exercise supercomplexes, but they do not work. Only a balanced diet and regular sports throughout life work. But apparently, this requires some titanic efforts, especially if you get used to the wrong diet and a comfortable sofa.
Why is it increasingly difficult to lose weight with age
